      • 8 packs of 1 trap
    • 1. Remove bait cup from bottom of trap by twisting counter clockwise
      2. Place Tomcat Mouse Attractant Gel or other food (such as peanut butter or cheese) into cup and re-insert into trap
      3. Set trap by compressing the top portion to the bottom until it clicks into place. Place the opened trap perpendicular to a wall or other places where rats are known to travel.
      4. To dispose of the rat, pinch open the trap and drop the carcass in the trash.

    • DETECTION TIPS
Seeing a rat or seeing droppings is the #1 sign you have a rodent issue.
      Other signs of rodent activity:
Destruction to food or property (particularly gnaw marks)
      Erratic pet behavior
Oily 'rub' marks on baseboards and walls

    • If rat is not caught in 2-3 days, place trap in alternate location where rat activity is suspected.

    • Place trap where rodents travel, usually a 25 - 100 ft. area between their nest and food source

    • Box

    • This is not the product label. Always read and follow the product label before use.

I have had good success with these traps and have caught quite a few rats with them. I even had a couple up in the loft of my shed at opposite ends that one rat managed the get an arm in one and a leg in the other. They are pretty pricey, but much cheaper and more effective than professional pest control when it comes to rats....mainly because all they do is bait stations and rats seem to be becoming immune to many of the poisons. My main issue with these traps is that the bait cups break easily. The wings break off and they will no longer stay in place in the trap. They need to include extras with the traps AND make them available for purchase separately from the traps to justify the cost of the traps OR redesign the cups so they hold up better. The new design should work with the old traps...perhaps make them out of a sturdier material.... (Posted over a month ago)

Discovered rats in my backyard shed. Picked two of these up from Lowes and baited with peanut butter. Each got a rat. One horrible to behold, the other was quick and clean. Liked being able to set with my foot. (Posted over a month ago)

Throw all others away. Best trap we have. Best bait is soft pup-a-Roni dog treat. Put some in cup. Then some below trigger plate. 1st month caught 9 serious pests. The big victor trap has not caught a mouse (Posted over a month ago)

I have had these traps set off several times and every time the rat escapes from it unharmed. While the traps are easy to set they do not seem to have enough force to kill let alone hold a rat. Most recently after not reseting the trap immediately the rat returned and stole the bait cup from the trap. I would not recommend this trap. While the trap design is good in theory, it is ineffective in practice. (Posted over a month ago)

I had rats infiltrate the pumphouse where my pool mechanical equipment is housed. They chewed hole through the wall and used it for shelter over the winter.

I've procrastinated dealing with them, since I've never had good luck with conventional traps. The Tomcat looked like a promising alternative, and sure enough, it did the trick.

I placed it perpendicular against the back wall as instructed and baited it with a few kibbles of dry cat food. It wasn't set for 6 hours before I had my first victim. Cleaned that one out and reset it, bam! Another one the next night. That one was so big I thought I'd got a squirrel until I saw the tail.

Definitely the way to go in rat traps. And if you've got picky rats, try the cat food. They seem to love it... once. (Posted over a month ago)

i have to say i was happy to catch one rat whose neck snapped by this trap but this morning found a second rat with just its leg caught, alive. it was pretty stressful to deal with. it was a smaller rat and we ended up opening the trap and letting it run away (not an ideal situation for anyone).the bait cup broke off the during the first use. kind of a bummer. it worked without bait, on the other hand on the second try... I have placed the trap in my garage with the results listed. So far there has been only one time when the trap was tripped but missed the prey. It is easy to bait, set, and position with minimal fear of snapping yourself like the fear I have had with the old-fashioned spring traps. I can't speak to the long term durability of the bait cups, but so far so good. (Posted over a month ago)

I set 2 of these traps and the first night I caught a rat. The only problem is that the wings on the bait cup break and you can no longer use the trap because you can not get a replacement cup. I would rate this product higher if not for this problem. Easy to set up. (Posted over a month ago)

Do not buy this product. Im sorry I wasted my money. I will stick with the glue traps or the old fashion spring loaded. The trap is hard to set. Each time its set and you try to place it, it snaps. Very frustrating. You can't build a better mouse trap. Scrap this stupid invention. (Posted over a month ago)

I'm so fearful of the old kind of traps--but when I saw TWO LARGE rats in my house, had to do something. Found the LARGE rat snap but geesh, they are expensive. Since when can one trap work, you have to buy multiple traps. Also having a hard time finding it online to purchase for a relative elsewhere in the state so they can simply pick up at the store. Took a while to catch one, so I need more traps plus need some for the outside as well. (Posted over a month ago)

I would not give any stars if possible. I have a hard time setting the "old traps" so, I was excited to get these. I purchased four of these "so called" traps, with NO luck! For four days, I have fed these rodents instead of catching them. I've read the other reviews and comments. I don't think it should matter about the size of the rodent to have the ability to catch it. What size does it have to be anyway?? I don't think this trap could even catch Ratzilla. It is a big defect if the rodent gets close enough to clean the bait area and the trap doesn't go off! (Posted over a month ago)

The rat is caught in the trap and still alive over an hour later. I wish I had gotten the one that kills instantly. It's horrible listening to him suffer on my balcony. I'm terrified of rats. (Posted over a month ago)

I've purchased several traps (keep losing them to squirrel's ) use them manly for chipmunk control. works very well.I use sunflower seed for bait ( peanut butter attracts grease eating ants )Something larger would be nice to take care of the problem of squirrel's making off with the trap. Killed a rat within 3 hours of putting this out! I used nutella for bait! After night 1 of catching 1 rat I am interested to see if I have any more these next few nights or if that was it! Slick & easy to use trap! Only negative is this is so small the whole rat was out except the head! Maybe by design so it snaps the neck but if not a little bigger would be better. I expected to find one mouse; but this device has killed 5 mice in my kitchen in one week. Three times (out of eight attempts), the mice have not tripped the trap, in spite of the fact that they ate all of the bait.I now know what the design defect is; and I have developed a workaround. Read and follow all directions and safety precautions. The clamping force from the spring is very powerful. Combined with the tough, interlocking plastic jaws, the snapping force generated is more than enough to fracture the maxilla and mandible of 6-8lbs rats in my area. The interlocking jaw are strong enough to trap rats whose arms/ legs triggered the trap. Very easy and safe to release dead rodent and set for a new one. Bait application and installation is very convenient. The trigger is very sensitive. Would have preferred if the bait and the bait hole on the trigger tongue were located about .5" deeper in the trap to ensure a head/neck trap for bigger rats. A shorter trigger tongue could also facilitate this. Other than that, I hope this trap does not get discontinued. I mounted some in my fruit trees (mangoes) for rats. The next morning I discovered two huge rats that were killed on first night of use. Peanut butter, as recommended, is the best bait. Extremely pleased with this product. (Posted over a month ago)

I started using this trap after seeing the pest control company I hired use it for our chipmunk infestation. It is very easy to set and easy to remove the rodent. It is very durable, lasting several years even when it is used outside for chipmunks for 8 or 9 months. (Posted over a month ago)
